In very basic layman's terms, think
of a proxy as a remote computer location that allows a user to
visit and then redirect to a new destination
using a different and usually anonymous ip address. Imagine some University servers or
public libraries that allow users to log in remotely to access their services. Once a
remote client logs in, they can navigate to a new destination from the proxy
location.
There are hundreds if not thousand of
sites online that provide a proxy service. These are often based on scripts that
allow a user to surf anonymously if they so desire; unfortunately the vast majority of
these sites include adware, strip out content or replace content with their own. Using
these public free proxies is slow, inefficient and unsecured.
Why would someone want to use a proxy?
Individuals may find the need to use a proxy to perform website evaluations from a remote
location. It is obviously inefficient to physically travel to a remote location simply to
evaluate a website; a proxy server allows a user to do this effectively from their own
location.
The Automatic Browser Robot screens proxy
locations and only uses those that are anonymous and live. That is it finds proxies that
are secure (your original ip cannot be traced and the throughput allows for fast
navigation). These types of proxies are difficult to find and even with paid proxy
services companies, the quality is often very low. The vast majority of free proxy
location are useless since the owner is simply using them to force adware into the users
browser; they are very slow or sometimes simply do not work at all. Free proxy sites are
also frequently transparent so that the users original ip address can be easily
traced.
The Automatic Browser Robot is the only
solution that provides full anonymous browsing in a high speed automated solution. It
also incorporates a variety of useful options and tools for url testing and
evaluation.
